JESUS

It’s that time of year again.  The year where we have a little PEEP fun :), may color eggs, eat some chocolate (do we need a special occasion to eat chocolate??) and possibly dress up in some sweet duds Easter Sunday.   I enjoy all these things, I mean, my church drops peeps from a helicopter… that’s just fun y’all.

Of course, just because we have some ‘fun at Easter time, it doesn’t take away from the fact that this ‘holiday’ is the basis of hope for anyone who has believed in Jesus and trusted in His work on the cross for eternal salvation, anyone who is a Christ-Follower.  JESUS IS HOPE.  JESUS IS LIFE. The pain and torture He endured and the price He paid was for YOU and it was for ME.  He is the Savior of the WORLD.  The fact that He didn’t stay dead proves that.  His miraculous resurrection is a true and factual event, and Christ is just as alive today as He was that marvelous morning.

Sidewalk Prophets have a beautiful song, “You Love Me Anyway”.  What Jesus did that day on Calvary, He did for you and me.  But He also did it because of and in place of you and me.  We deserve the punishment He endured.   Check out these lyrics from this song:

Did you know that?  I will never forget last year on Easter morning. In KidsLife we showed the Jesus Film for Children.  During the scene that Jesus was being beaten, a child asked if it was a true story.  She had never heard THE GREATEST STORY. The Lord used that moment to show me there are still millions who haven’t heard, even right here in my backyard.

Maybe you’ve never heard the story.  Maybe you’ve never read the BOOK.  Or maybe you know someone who hasn’t.  I would like to give away several copies of the Jesus DVD. What better time of year than the Easter Season to share the greatest story EVER.  The story that changes lives. The story that changes peoples’ eternal destiny.  The story that provides HOPE.
