Paul is the dude that wrote much of the New Testament. Interestingly, many of those books he wrote start out like this: “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will…” or “This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God…” Paul did what he did because it was God’s will. He traversed adversity to impart the life-changing gospel of Christ to any in his path. It was determined and pre-destined that he would fulfill his purpose and bless mankind through Christ.
The word ‘will’ comes from Thelema, which comes from the word Thelo which means: to will, to have in mind, intend, to be resolved or determined, to purpose. God had Paul on His mind. He had Paul in mind to fulfill his purpose where He placed him.
The cool thing in looking deeper into this is that God has you on His mind as well. He has placed you exactly where He determined that you would best fulfill the purpose He intended for you. It is not a mistake. Whether that’s in a classroom, at home, in a medical facility, on the streets of Bangladesh, in a church or wherever God has you, you have been chosen by the will of God for this time, location, and purpose.
Embracing that thought should empower you and me to walk in His calling, endure through adversity and proclaim His faithfulness along the way.
