OK – It’s been a few days, but here are my thoughts on the Zimmerman trial…
You and I don’t agree – and that’s ok. I can still love you and you can still love me. There’s no one who agrees on everything. I have Christian friends, black friends, white friends, non-Christian friends, republican friends and democrat friends on both sides of this “debate. That’s a good thing. We are blessed with the ability and the freedom to form a decision (whether validated or not – I’ve seen both on social media and in the news this past week… ahem) in this country.
In fact, you and I may not agree on politics, religion, marriage, what sports team we cheer for, fashion and on and on. Again, that’s OK. None of that is a reason for me to hate you or you to hate me. I mean, for REAL! Hating, wanting physical harm on someone and bashing is NOT going to get your point across. It’s going to make you look like the jack… um, bad guy.
If you were looking for my opinion so you could rally beside me or spout off why I’m wrong, you’re not going to get it. (*grin*) But, I love you. I will say this, my heart hurts for the families/friends of both Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. One is dead and another has to live with that fact for the rest of his life. It was a lose-lose situation.
[Insert relevant verse to back up what I believe from the Bible – but considering that many that read this do not believe in the Bible my point is made without it :).]
