,,, after the Ohio State basketball game and Good Friday reflections started at midnight. Here we are at 2:22 3:19 am. I AM NOT A NIGHT PERSON! Unless God wants to keep me up to chat and/or do a heart-check. A heart-healing. So I grabbed my iPad and followed His lead as we journeyed through YouVersion. It seems on Good Friday my sin just rises to the surface, like fizz on a root beer float. Just picture scenes from “The Passion of the Christ” and hear the nails piercing his body and plummeting into the wood of the cross – for MY sin. “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our (MY) sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Cor. 5:21 Because sometimes I can’t get a grip. Because sometimes I’m selfish. Because sometimes I fail. Because sometimes…
We can’t hold on to the cross and our sin at the same time.
We gotta let go of one to hold on to the other. We have to ask ourselves what we want to hold on to? Our sin? Or the cross?
By HIS BLOOD we are REDEEMED:
For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.http://bible.us/72/1pe.1.18.hcsb
In CHRIST we have MERCY:
The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy. http://t.co/JxFpe8CdZL
HE will FORGIVE:
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. https://www.bible.com/bible/72/1jn.1.9.hcsb
HE can change our HEART:
God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. http://t.co/kZY59ptF0Q
Today, make this a GOOD Friday. Decrease so He can increase. Die to SELF so you can live in CHRIST. Say “ADIOS” to the OLD and embrace the new. Find rest, forgiveness, mercy, LIFE and HOPE on this day that we remember the brutality of the CROSS and don’t let it be for nothing ~ come to the CROSS because it was for YOU.
