Day Four – “Stinkin’ Tired!” Friday, May 14, 2010
Here we are… Day Four. It’s quite possible that today was a little harder to drag ourselves out of bed this morning. Some of the adrenaline has worn off. The heat, well, it’s draining. What we’ve experienced – well, it can be overwhelming – physically and emotionally. Maybe not today, but at some point in your life you’ve felt weak, like even lifting your pencil is a struggle. What kinds of things make you weak or have made you feel weak in the past? Finals week? A death in the family? Conflict? Exhaustion?
Read 2 Cor. 12:6-10. What does this tell you about God’s ability to use us when we feel useless, weak or whipped?
Romans 8:26-27 Whose power are we to rest in?
When we’re at the end of our ropes because of exhaustion, frustration or desperation, He is there – waiting and wanting to help, just waiting for us to ask. God gives us His Spirit to accomplish what He’s called us to. We were never expected to do anything in our own strength, but in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit.
What are some benefits of walking ‘in the Spirit’?
What are some things we can do by the power of the Holy Spirit/Jesus?
1 Cor. 12:7-11
We may try really hard to do good things, the right thing. But God didn’t call us to ‘try to live the Christian life,” He told us to “WALK BY THE SPIRIT”. Let Him fill and empower you today. When we are weak, He is STRONG!
