Is it wrong to say I’m glad my son sinned? Well, I’m not glad he sinned, but, I am thankful for the opportunity for discussion that arose because of his brokenness. He was sorry for his sin, crying even. Then, he asked, “Mom, what happens if I sin after I get to heaven? Is God gonna kick me out?” That opened the door to talk about heaven, God’s grace and His goodness. We read 1 John 1:9, and the promise that when we sin, and we’re sorry about it, we can confess that sin to Jesus and He forgives us. Not only that, He cleans us up and helps us not to do it again! Not that we should just sin, knowing He’s going to forgive us, (Romans 6:1), but wanting live right because we love Jesus. We’re going to sin, we’re sinners. Thank God we have GRACE through Jesus Christ.
Yes, we can be thankful for brokenness.
When we are broken, He can heal.
When we are broken, He can convict.
When we are broken, He can forgive.
When we are broken, He can speak.
When we are broken, He meets us there.
When we are broken, we can experience teachable moments.
