The word gospel means “good news.” It truly is good news. Here are some examples of that good news:
Jesus became sin for us, so we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Cor. 5:21
Whoever believes in and receives Christ will become a child of God and have eternal life. John 3:16, John 1:12.
Jesus tells us to “repent and believe in the good news.” Mark 1:15
Jesus gives us LIFE (eternal and on earth), and in Christ we can live an abundant life. John 10:10, 1 John 5:12-13
That is good news! The BEST news! However, with that news comes truth. Recently, my daughter was asked how she “got saved.” She told the person the story about asking if someone who had died was in heaven. My response was truth, that I didn’t have any idea. She realized that if she didn’t accept Christ, she could go to hell when she died. That is her story (the short version ). The person who asked her was angry with my answer, that I would have the nerve to tell a child that someone might be in hell, so angry she stormed off into her house and hasn’t spoken with me since… With the good news comes truth. Here are some examples of that truth:
If you are not born again, you will not see the kingdom of God. John 3:3-7 (Read it if you don’t believe me.)
If you don’t haven’t given your life to Christ, you will not have (eternal) life. 1 John 5:12
Hell is real. Matt. 25:41,47
God doesn’t want you to go to hell. 2 Pet. 3:9
The good news is we have a choice. If you CHOOSE Christ (repent from your sins, receive Him, make Him Lord of your life) you get to go to heaven, and have Him by your side in this life. If you do choose NOT to accept Christ, the truth is what it is. Today can be your day of salvation! If you’re truly sorry for your sins, tell Jesus you’re sorry. Turn from those sins. Ask Jesus to be Lord of your life. Open the door of your heart and let Him in. Call on Him and you will be saved. Then, confess Him to others. Let someone know you “got saved” (accepted Christ, gave your life to Christ). Message me if you need more information. God bless!
